The Department of Medical Education at the Dell Medical School is seeking a Senior Academic Program Coordinator.

Purpose

The Senior Academic Program Coordinator is responsible for the effective administration and continuous improvement of medical education courses. This position plays a key role in enhancing the educational mission of the institution by fostering a collaborative environment, supporting faculty development, and ensuring the highest standards of medical education are met. The Senior Academic Program Coordinator position requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills to contribute to the success of medical education programs.

Responsibilities

Program Development and Management

Oversee the coordination of multiple academic courses, meetings, and a committees, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to timelines.

Maintain accurate information and be the primary contact for the year round/four-year longitudinal courses, Developing Outstanding Clinical Skills (DOCS).

Develop and implement academic programs and curricula in collaboration with faculty and administration.

Ensure alignment of program goals with institutional objectives and accreditation standards.

Data Analysis and Reporting

Manage the Learning Management System course syllabus, support documents and exams.

Utilize data management systems to track student performance and program outcomes.

Identify, present, and implement process improvement for program effectiveness and areas for improvement.

Student Support

Provide support to medical students, addressing their academic and personal concerns.

Establish and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and external partners to support student success.

Collaboration and Communication

Navigate institutional structures and processes to achieve program goals.

Participate in cross-functional teams to foster learning and collaboration.

Marginal or Periodic Functions:

Coordinate with campus departments, clinical partners, and vendors to organize courses and events.

Lead and prioritize day-of-event activities.

Provide administrative support to the Curricular Integration Sub-Committee.

Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Understanding of medical education frameworks, curriculum development, and instructional strategies.

Knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools for tracking student performance and program outcomes.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students, faculty, and external partners.

Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships, providing support, and facilitating collaboration among broad groups.

Identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes to improve program outcomes.

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and new challenges in a dynamic educational environment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in academic program coordination or program administration.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Experience in academic program coordination within a medical education setting. Capacity to innovate and implement new ideas to enhance program effectiveness. Experience using curriculum management systems or learning management systems. Experience in healthcare.

Salary Range

$55,000+ depending on qualifications

This position is hybrid eligible. After the first 60 days in person the employee may request hybrid work one day a week remotely.
