Senior Account Director of Group Sales

Job Description Summary

The Senior Account Director of Group Sales position is a wonderful opportunity to join a fast-growing team and company. Since 2020 Sonesta Hotels have seen huge growth from 250 hotels to 1200 hotels in North America and beyond. This opportunity could be a feeder for senior group sales roles as well as other sales leadership positions in the future. This is a multi-property position to support the group sales efforts for 4 top-performing hotels in NYC. The Benjamin- The Royal Sonesta Hotel; The Shelburne - The Sonesta Hotel; The Fifty, Sonesta Select New York and The Garden – Sonesta New York, ES Suites. The Benjamin will be fully renovated in 2024 and The Shelburne will be getting a new Restaurant and Roof top later in 2023.

Job Description

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:   

Key responsibilities would include selling guest rooms and meeting space within assigned accounts and segments to groups for the 4 Sonesta Hotels of NYC

Other Job Functions

Explore new sources of business by developing new contacts.Continue to develop relationships with current supporters through innovative and effective strategies.Seek and contact new potential clients through:Direct enquirySales leads – domestic and overseasSales BlitzBe responsible for room night and revenue production from allocated segmentsEntertain executives and secretaries of potential corporate and travel companies and in-house guests to ensure future business to the hotelMonitor monthly production and create business plans to achieve the monthly targetsConsistently quote rates to help achieve the hotels’ occupancy, average rate, and RevPAR goalsMonitor competitors’ performance where it relates to their particular market segmentMaintain and update the hotel’s CRM system in accordance to Sonesta guidelineAttend daily sales briefings, weekly revenue meetings, and monthly sales meetingsOrganize and participate in familiarization visits, sales blitzes, entertain and conduct other business-generating activities as and when requireConduct on-site inspections for existing or prospective travel influencers, decision makers and end users.Be aware of current market trends and supply competitor activity information to the sales leadership.Participate in sales trips and, when required, complete all sales reports in accordance with Sonesta guidelines.Participate in any projects as and when assigned by the department head.Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head.

Qualifications and Skills

Previous experience with hotel sales is required. Group sales experience of 3-5 years is preferred.College degree preferredProficiency in Outlook, with basic knowledge of Words, Excel, Teams and PPTKnowledge of Cvent, Ideas (group evaluator), Zoom info is a plus.Must speak fluent English.College degree preferredFrequently standing up or moving within and outside the facilityCarrying or lifting items weighing up to 25lbsCommunicating with customers, employees, and third partiesHandling objects, products and computer equipment

Additional Job Information/Anticipated

Pay Range

Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $112,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
