About the Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats. 

 

UC student-athletes collectively posted a 3.4 overall GPA in the spring of 2023, resulting in 11 consecutive semesters of a 3.3 department GPA or higher.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Senior Account Executive for Partnerships. As many as two positions may be filled. 

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals through prospecting, networking, cultivating relationships, executing sales, and delivering on expectations of corporate sponsorship agreements of high -value while following all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.

Essential Functions Identify potential sponsors through prospecting and networking with university and community stakeholders and business partners, researching local, regional and national companies. Assist in creating sales inventory, revenue projections and overall sponsorship strategy. Support the development and execution of a sales plan. Execute sales presentations for prospective corporate sponsorships. Create sales proposals and negotiate contracts. Collaborate with sponsors in the development of key marketing objectives via needs assessment and sales process. Entertain and cultivate professional relationships. Maintain relationships with current sponsors and renew agreements.  Stay current with relevant market conditions and sports marketing trends.  Serve as team leader, coaching and mentoring team members.  May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).  Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor's Degree. Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience

Five (5) years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered Direct sales experience in the sports multi-media environment . Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across many demographics. Application Information
