While reporting to the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for coordinating all direct sales activities relative to key growth target platforms and prospective accounts found within assigned area of responsibility. Maintaining regular contact with those targets and prospective accounts in an effort to grow our business and seek out new products and service opportunities. Strive continuously to enhance Sonoco’s overall position in all served and potential markets.
What you'll be doing:
Developing strategies to expand Sonoco's share in existing and prospective markets by prospecting with regularity and disciplineDevelop growth strategies with identified co-manufacturers and retailers to enable the division’s broader growth plan.Deliver a minimum of $1MM+ per year of net profitable annualized growth through new business earned outside of existing customer networkStrong multi-channel prospecting strategies and cadence, driven by proven success of onboarding new customers, tracks prospecting actives in detailProficient with technology and management of - remote meetings, Microsoft, CRM, LinkedIn, Salesforce, and Logility.Develop strategies to maximize profitability of your business portfolioProvides marketing with input for use in developing strategic plans and develops account plans that are consistent with overall division strategies.Monitors closely all activity at each prospective customer location and reports on expansions, closings, business trends, and all other factors impacting volume levels.Maintains detailed customer files (share, relative quality, relative price, specifications, contacts, competitor, etc.) on an ongoing basis.Establishes and maintains multi-level contacts at all major prospective accounts. Believes in the value of deep and wide relationships, expanding relationships well beyond themselves.Communicates all pertinent information involving assigned accounts and prospective accounts to appropriate personnel through call reportsDevelops and maintains complete list of prospective customers found within assigned area of responsibility.This is a remote position. Ideal candidates will be in the eastern half of the US.

The annual base salary range for this role is from $161,100 – 181,000, plus an annual target bonus of 20% of base salary.
