Description
Our nonprofit client has a short-term 4-6 weeks project 100% onsite in Fort Worth, TX. Seeking a strong Senior Accountant responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations. This role involves ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience with nonprofit financial management, and a passion for our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and nonprofit accounting standards.
+ Budget Management: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets. Track budget versus actual performance and provide variance analysis.
+ Audits: Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits. Ensure that all financial records and documentation are in order and respond to auditor inquiries.
+ General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger. Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
+ Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting nonprofits.
+ Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making. Develop financial models and reports as needed.
+ System Management: Oversee the use of accounting software and systems. Implement improvements and updates as necessary.

Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
+ Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit organization preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and practices preferred.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
