Our FDA-licensed, state-of-the-art CGMP manufacturing facility for Gene Therapies is located on the Harmans/BWI campus. The campus, featuring two manufacturing facilities is located 5 miles from the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport and 13 miles from our Baltimore location. The campus is close to Washington, DC’s I-270 Technology Corridor, top universities, and government agencies.

The Harmans/BWI-1 EMA and FDA approved facility, at approximately 200,000 sq. ft., houses 10 CGMP manufacturing suites, fill/finish, central services, testing labs, and a warehouse.

The Harmans/BWI-2 facility, at approximately 145,000 sq. ft., is under development and will house 8 CGMP manufacturing suites and cold storage warehousing.

Both facilities support Phase 3 through commercial manufacturing of advanced therapeutic products including AAV and other viral vector-based therapies and vaccines.

The Senior Accountant position will oversee contract billing and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collections, data analysis, ERP system liaison, and other duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex billing processes.  The Accounting and Finance Department plays an essential role in the organization and is responsible for ensuring the efficient financial management and financial controls necessary to support all business activities.

This is a full-time on-site position, M-F 8am-5pm

The Role:

Manage the entire contract billing cycle, including the preparation and issuance of invoices, credit memo(s), and on time payments.Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted; assisting with contract asset financial reviews.Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status, cash received, AR Aging, and AR forecast.Coordinate with project managers and clients to resolve billing discrepancies.Maintain detailed records of all billing activities and communications.Drive internal reviews and business partnering for customer dispute and resolution with Project Managers, Commercial Operations, and Supply Chain.Manages deep dive analysis for customer disputes, fixed price negotiations, risk management for expired materials, and project lifecycle closeoutImplement advanced data analytics techniques to identify trends in payment behaviors and predict potential late payments or defaults in support of AR reserves.

The Candidate:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance4+ years’ experienceExperience in public accounting (audit, consulting, compliance, data analytics) is a strong plusStrong work ethic and passion to learn new skillsDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects with minimal supervisionAbility to work in fast-paced environment with firm deadlinesHigh attention to detailExperience with US GAAP standards/ASC is strong plusCPA, CMA, CFA are strongly preferredProven track record of data-driven business partnering, presenting complex financial insights to non-technical stakeholdersDevelop and implement process automation solutions for financial operations
Utilize data visualization tools and handle large-scale financial datasets (Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, R, Python, PowerQuery, etc.)Proficient in advanced Excel skills and nested formulas [XLOOKUP, CONCAT, IF/AND/OR, SUMPRODUCT, INDIRECT]

The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $93,280-$128,260 plus annual bonus, when eligible.  The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
