The Senior Accountant works with a high degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities for the company. The role requires strong analytic and reasoning skills in order to determine the best outcome when faced with uncertainty.
The person will apply generally accepted principles of accounting to analyze financial information and will be responsible for making the requisite journal entries and preparing account reconciliations in order to be able to prepare accurate and complete financial statements.
Responsibilities:
•\tPrepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
•\tPrepare and analyze quarterly consolidated financial statements.
•\tPrepare and analyze quarterly and monthly reports, including consolidated sales, and quarterly reserves.
•\tPrepare financial budgets and forecasts updates, including modeling and supporting schedules.
•\tPerform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
•\tAssist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
•\tUnderstand Intercompany transactions.
•\tIncreases productivity by developing automated accounting applications.
•\tEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
•\tMake certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.
•\tEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
•\tDocument policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
•\tContribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
•\tProtects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Job Qualifications:
•\tBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
•\t4 + years of general accounting, reporting & analysis experience
•\tStrong experience with financial statements
•\tAbility to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
•\tMust be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
•\tThe individual will be expected to work independently and take ownership of his /her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
•\tAttention to detail and accuracy.
•\tStrong communication skills.
•\tProblem identification and analysis.
•\tExcellent teamwork skills.
•\tAdvanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
•\tKnowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
•\tKnowledge of auditing practices and principles.
•\tKnowledge of JDE preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
