As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, performing month-end and year-end closing procedures, and supporting the external audit process. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries; maintain records and files for assigned departments and companiesPerform monthly account reconciliations and financial statement reviewPrepare year-end audit documentation and support the external audit processEnsure accurate financial data recording by applying Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesAddress inquiries from department heads and program managers regarding financial transactionsSubstantiate financial transactions through document auditing and provide detailed analysisAnalyze information and complete reporting requirements efficientlyCommunicate details and provide support to the Accounting ManagerAssist with maintaining capital equipment/asset purchases and monthly depreciation when neededContribute to the budgeting/forecasting process for assigned departments and/or companiesSupport accounting activities related to Grants, HUD, and LIHTC projects as requiredPresent and report to stakeholders, providing recommendations to Finance and Operational leadershipRecommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options and conducting research when neededDemonstrate leadership by coaching and mentoring team membersTake autonomous ownership of tasks and projects

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred7+ years of accounting experience preferred

Additional Qualifications:

Excellent Excel skillsUnderstanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulationsAbility to multitask and manage time effectivelySense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on company successCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong team player with great interpersonal and communication skills
