SUMMARY  

Shape Process Automation (SPA) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a key role in the financial operations of the company, including financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, advanced analytical abilities, and a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely results.  The candidate will act as a strong support to the Business Unit Controller by contributing to maintaining the books and records of the Company through booking more complex journal entries, generating reporting, and preparing various account reconciliations and schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: 

Performs complex accounting analysis, journal entries, and prepare or review balance sheet reconciliations, and schedules in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Takes responsibility for assignments detailed in the Finance Department’s closing checklist to ensure completion in accordance with deadlines. Lead and oversee the monthly inventory close process and participate in the annual physical inventory counts. Prepare and analyze various financial calculations and schedules. Responsible for all direct and indirect tax reporting and all statutory requirements. Support external audit for interim and year-end audit procedures. Actively participates in process improvement initiatives. Other ad hoc projects as assigned. Exercises a high level of care to ensure all documentation complies with internal controls for SOX 404. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

LOCATION

This position is a hybrid position and will require being in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field. 3-5 years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of the ASC 606 Revenue Recognition method is a plus. General Ledger experience. High standards for accuracy and confidentiality, Maintain honest and ethical conduct at all times. Strong critical thinking skills. Strong organizational skills. Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams simultaneously. Comfortable communicating with all levels of management. Possesses advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of ADP Etime, Kronos, and Platinum Sage a plus. Ability to work extended hours during month end and other times, as needed. Continuous improvement/Lean Manufacturing knowledge a plus.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field. 3-5 years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of the ASC 606 Revenue Recognition method is a plus. General Ledger experience.
