Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Reston, VA. Roles and Responsibilities: * Financial Reporting: Senior Accountant will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and government regulations * Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual performance against budget * Compliance: Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other government regulations; Prepare for and support audits by government agencies * Cost Accounting: Oversee cost accounting activities, including the allocation of costs to contracts and projects * Internal Controls: As a Senior Accountant, you will develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records * Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments * General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities * Financial Analysis: Senior Accountant will conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and provide insights into financial performance * Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
