Senior Accountant

Summary of the Position:

The Senior Accountant will assist the Controller in all areas of accounting including account reconciliations, accounting policy compliance, monthly close process, account analysis and accounts payable. This position is responsible for daily reconcilement of various accounts to the general ledger, daily posting of journal entities and various special projects.

Primary Functions of the Position:

· Verifies, allocates, posts, and reconciles accounts payable and receivable

· Produces error-free accounting reports and presents their results

· Analyzes financial information and summarizes financial status

· Spots errors and suggests ways to improve efficiency and spending

· Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures

· Participates in financial standards setting and in forecast process

· Provides input into department’s goal setting process

· Prepares financial statements and produces budget according to schedule

· Assists with tax audits and tax returns

· Assists with internal and external audits to ensure compliance

· Supports month-end and year-end close process

· Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

· Ensures compliance with GAAP principles

· Minimum 5 years of accounting experience

Essential Skills and Abilities:

· Organized with strong attention to detail

· Professional interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong writing, critical-thinking, and analytical skills
