Senior Accountant
Description We are offering a great opportunity for a Staff/Senior Accountant in the Ocean County, NJ area. This role is essential to our team as it involves handling accounting functions for for a well rounded dynamic team. Responsibilities: • Undertake the execution of journal entries in an accurate and timely manner • Assist with the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial deadlines are met • Analyze financial results, identifying and explaining variances and trends • Develop and maintain budgets, including construction budget and related sources and uses for debt financing • Provide accurate cash flow projections and maintain control over the same • Handle accounts payable, ensuring all financial obligations are met on time • Prepare bank reconciliations and manage fixed assets • Maintain and update the general ledger on a regular basis • Utilize skills in Financial Statement Preparation to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. Requirements • Proven expertise in Financial Statement Preparation is required. • Demonstrable experience in performing Bank Reconciliations is essential. • Familiarity with the management of Fixed Assets is a must. • Proficiency in handling and maintaining the General Ledger is crucial. • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is expected. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively is needed. • Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred. • Experience with accounting software and property management systems is beneficial. • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities are required. • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion is necessary.
