Description

Summary: We are seeking a Senior Accountant based at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for various aspects of the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules. Responsibilities: Heavily involved in the month-end close process.Preparation and maintenance of monthly accruals and allocations across multiple divisions.Preparing various financial statements and schedules for inclusion in the Company’s public filings.Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and analysis.Ad-hoc reporting and analysis.Support of corporate accounting initiatives and projects.Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasts for select corporate business units.Preparation of account reconciliations.Evaluating and recommending innovative approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies.Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.Work closely with internal and external auditors.Assist in maintaining the integrity of the company’s chart of accounts and business unit structure.Document and maintain accounting procedures and processes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with CPA/master’s degreeThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.Detail-oriented with an ability to identify and resolve problems both independently and as part of a team.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Excellent people skills across all levels of the organization.Strong organizational and time management ability.Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.
