Senior Accountant Business Unit United Wholesale Mortgage Location US-MI-Pontiac  

United Wholesale Mortgage is seeking a detail oriented, analytical individual to join our team as an Accountant. This individual will work with multiple business units to ensure timely handling of transactions and reconciliations. Responsible for ensuring all accounts are processed in an approved timelines.

 

This position performs a variety of high-volume cash transactions, reconciliations and balancing to ensure operational excellence and ensure accuracy for all financial institutions involved while making sure all regulations and compliance are followed.  This team member must have the ability to work with complex accounting and data problems.

 

Seeking someone with the ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced and confidential environment, while interacting professionally with diverse groups inclusive of executives, managers, vendors, and investors, while adjusting positively to quickly changing priorities and shifting goals.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.Participating in various internal, external, and regulatory audits. Ability to provide process overview along with providing requested information timely and professionally in an organized manner.Creating the monthly management reports inclusive of accrual reporting, servicing related reporting, general ledger balancing, along with monthly reports.Working closely with internal and external teams to ensure the accuracy and record financial transactions.Prepare the consolidation on a monthly/quarterly basis as part of the month end close process.Assists with quarterly and year-end financial reviews and audits and provide required financial information as necessary.Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements (i.e. balance sheets, income statements, etc.), or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.Utilizing data management tools such as Alteryx and Excel to efficiently manipulate and analyze extensive datasets to facilitate comprehensive analysis efforts. Must Have Qualifications: 

2-5 years of accounting or finance experienceBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced proficiency with MSFT Excel, including mastery of complex formulas, pivot tables, VBA, and data analysis techniques is required for this roleExcellent verbal and written communication skills with both external and internal customers of all levelsAbility to organize, prioritize, and manage workload efficiently and independentlyStrong attention to detailWillingness to work in a fast-paced team environmentPrior experience using Alteryx for data prep and analysis is a plus but, not required.Prior experience using accounting software (Dynamics, SAP, Workday, etc) THE PLACE & THE PERKS
