Senior Accountant
Job Title: Senior Accountant Job Description The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and team to support the company by performing month-end close, reconciliations, and providing insight on various accounting and financial matters. The role involves maintaining the general ledger, performing analysis, and lending insight on ad hoc projects as determined by the Controller. The Senior Accountant will also collaborate with other key members of the organization, assist in updating and implementing company policies and procedures, and identify opportunities to efficiently provide fiduciary leadership and promote a strong internal controls environment. Responsibilities + Maintain the general ledger including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations, and closing books monthly. + Perform analysis and lend insight on ad hoc projects, including key contact for lease accounting, sales and use tax preparation and filing, FP&A, financial reporting related projects, resolution of accounting issues, process improvements, tax schedules, and sales by state. + Collaborate with other key members of the organization. + Assist in updating and implementing company policies and procedures. + Identify opportunities to efficiently provide fiduciary leadership and promote a strong internal controls environment. + Support and improve business processes and accounting systems by working directly with company systems and other departments to ensure the accuracy, usefulness, and timeliness of financial statements provided to management. + Assist in compliance with Sarbanes/Oxley, including active participation in control matrix and process narrative updates, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures, and assisting in the ongoing development and implementation of new controls, policies, and procedures. + Assist in the preparation of interpretive analysis of business performance for use by management. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Staff/General Ledger Accountant, Accounting Supervisor/Accounting Manager in a manufacturing environment. + A Bachelor’s degree in accounting. + Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft Office, and PDF. + Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting practices and principles, financial statements, and financial analysis methods and tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience and training that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. + AS400 Legacy ERP experience preferred.
