Senior Accountant
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Redwood City interior design client's finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with the finance team and collaborate with other departments to enhance their financial processes. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. + Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded. + Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations. + Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing analysis on variances and trends. + Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support management in strategic planning and decision-making. + Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, and assist in audits by providing necessary documentation. + Manage tax preparation and compliance, ensuring timely filings of all tax obligations. + Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills. + Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting procedures. + Stay updated on industry regulations and changes in accounting standards. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred. + 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis. + Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel skills. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. + Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
