Senior Accountant
Description Robert Half has partnered with a growing software company to assist them in hiring an experienced Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess at least 4 years of public accounting or corporate accounting experience. CPA Is preferred. The Senior Accountant must be well versed in ASC 606, general ledger and financial reporting. This company offers a flexible hybrid work schedule and the potential for promotion in the future. Essential Functions • Responsible for transactions in the general ledger system and process adjustments • Prepares and/or reviews accurate internal financial reporting documents and analyze financial data to verify accuracy and identify trends • Provide financial reports and coordinate the month-end closing schedule • Perform analysis on financial information to ensure its accuracy and prepare various schedules • Prepare and review monthly journal entries • Prepare GL account reconciliations and resolve any variances • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses, and special projects, as needed. • Assist in creating and updating accounting policies in line with US GAAP • Assist external auditors with year-end audit and execute internal audit programs • Assist in implementing, maintaining, and improving internal controls over financial reporting • Interacts with the Finance team to report discrepancies between budget and actuals • Lead and mentor a staff accountant Required Experience & Education • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting • 3-5 years of general accounting experience • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting role • Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is required • Familiarity with general ledger management and journal entries is necessary • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI are needed • Experience in month-end close procedures is essential • Knowledge of NetSuite and ASC 606 is required • Understanding of company revenue recognition and SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley is necessary • Familiarity with financial reporting, budget monitoring, and variance analysis is needed • CPA certification is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
