Senior Accountant
Description Our client, a large distribution company, is in search of a Senior Accountant to join their team in their Sacramento office. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a growing team and be challenged with helping set up new processes and procedures. Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough account reconciliations for month-end closing. • Oversee GL accounting duties, including the analysis of financial information and reports. • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information and reports. • Adhere strictly to accounting principles, practices, and procedures. • Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasting exercises. • Contribute to process improvement for increased efficiency and compliance. • Utilize advanced Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.) for financial data analysis. • Maintain detailed records of journal entries. • Perform balance sheet reconciliations. • Assist in the month-end close process. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation • Ability to perform Balance Sheet Reconciliation • Experience with Bank Reconciliations • Solid understanding of General Ledger operations • Expertise in Journal Entries • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Proven track record in managing and maintaining financial records • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role • Knowledge of accounting software and databases • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks • Understanding of financial and accounting regulations and legislation.
