We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with specific experience in contract management, grant accounting, and month-end close processes. Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ MBA Preferred
+ CPA Preferred
+ 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least some experience in the non-profit sector.
+ Strong knowledge of grant accounting, including funder regulations, reporting, and compliance.
+ Experience with contract management and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
+ Proficiency in month-end close processes, including accruals and financial reporting.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
+ Proficiency in accounting software.

responsibilities:
+ Oversee and manage all aspects of the month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
+ Manage the full cycle of grant accounting, including compliance, tracking, reporting, and reconciliation to ensure proper use of restricted funds.
+ Ensure compliance with government contracts, including billing, reporting, and financial documentation as required by funders.
+ Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in coding and account classifications for transactions.
+ Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with program and management teams.
+ Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis, including bank, payroll, receivables, and payables accounts.
+ Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audits and grant-specific audits as required.
+ Provide support in developing and maintaining internal financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
+ Work closely with management and program staff to ensure financial sustainability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
