The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the monthly close process and providing timely and accurate reports.

 

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 in-office days per week. 

Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Degree Responsibilities  Maintain Fixed Asset System.Prepare bank reconciliations for assigned cash accounts on a monthly basis prior to issuing the financial statements.Prepare rent, management fee and depreciations schedules for HUD entities.Prepare year end audit schedules.Update and maintain assigned balance sheet, inter-company transactions, intra-organization allocations, general ledger journal entries, amortization schedules, recurring expenses, prepaid schedules, and fixed assets.Assist in timely, accurate and high quality monthly close including the preparation of monthly financial statements for Advocates, Inc. and Affiliates.Recommend procedural improvements and resolve issues.Prepare monthly Trend Report and investigate budget to actual variances.Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.   Qualifications B.S. in Accounting and 3-5 years experience in full general ledger monthly closing preferable in non-profit, human services and/or health care environment.Strong spreadsheet application and computer skills.Proficiency in accounting software applications (experience with Business Central a plus).Ability to communicate articulately and knowledgeably with all levels of internal staff.High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
