NOTE: This role is Hybrid and requires 2 days a week onsite in our Walnut Creek Corporate office. Summary:Our Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting functions to include the development and maintenance of accounting systems, general ledger, asset and liability records and other financial transactions, as well as the reporting of financial and statistical data. The ideal candidate uses advanced accounting concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Our Senior Accountant may function as a team lead and/or coordinate functions of others. They receive assignments in the form of goals and exercise considerable judgment and latitude in obtaining results. Interacts with all levels of staff and external constituents to resolve a wide variety of accounting related issues.Essential Functions• Develops implements and/or maintains one or a combination of general accounting systems.• Applies specialized accounting concepts to perform technical analyses to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and/or resource allocations.• Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues at the highest levels of complexity, ensuring internal control objectives are met.• Prepares proposals for improvements to internal accounting procedures and policies.• Evaluates, interprets and, summarizes reports and records for all levels of leadership.• Is a resource to management on complex issues or specialized functions and standards.• Leads team in completing regulatory findings, income and expense report filing and general ledger closing cycle.• Provides coaching and assistance to lower level accounting staff.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles• Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation, including consolidations and other advanced topics• Thorough knowledge of financial analysis techniques• Strong analytical skills needed to structure and conduct analyses and to evaluate and develop logical solutions to accounting issues• Understanding of the financial dynamics of a P & C insurer and AAA operations and their application to CSAA’s accounting environmentEducation & Experience / Licenses & Certification• Bachelor's degree with emphasis on Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. CPA preferred• 6-7 years previous relevant work experience. #LI-VB1 #VIC_RX We target between minimum and midpoint of the range, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis - Compensation Range: Min: $86,704.00 - Mid: $108,379.00- Max: $130,055.00 -
