About the role:
The Finance Team sits at the global intersection of critical analysis and operational function, housing Accounting, FP&A, and Corporate Development. The Accounting division of our Finance team is looking for a proactive and detailed Senior Accountant. Directly reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will work closely and collaborate with the team on tasks like monthly closing, expenses, payables, banking, and general accounting support. This is a great opportunity to join a well-supported team, and partner with a variety of cross-functional teams.What you'll do:Assist with month-end close processes and own responsibilities, such as preparation of journal entries, intercompany entries, account reconciliation with supporting schedules, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, etc.Prepare monthly variance analysis comparing actual results to prior periods and budgeted figures.Oversee and streamline processes related to specialized revenue streams, ensuring accurate recording and reporting. Assist with local US and global audits, providing necessary documentation and support.Support processing of global tax payments and filings.Draft and maintain detailed documentation of accounting processes, including policy and procedure documents, working cross-functionally to complete. Support and manage special projects related to global expansion and other ad-hoc accounting initiatives.Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, improve internal controls, seek new initiatives and display the willingness to take on special projects both individually and as part of a team.Other tasks based on team and business needs.What experience we're looking for:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3 - 5 years of experience in an accounting role; start-up environment preferred.Knowledge of finance principles, and reporting.Proficiency in Excel; pivot tables, lookups, etc.Proficiency in NetSuite accounting softwareWho you are:Data-driven with strong critical thinking abilities.Highly organized and detail oriented.Enjoy diving into complex issues to find solutions with a “can do” attitude, but also working in a flexible, supportive, and energetic team-environment.Strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills.Passionate about accounting and have experience working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. These considerations can cause compensation to vary. The salary range estimate for this position as performed in New York is $110,000 - $125,000 plus bonus potential, comprehensive health benefits, 401k with company match, and a lifestyle stipend. The actual pay will be at Vistar Media’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
