Senior Accountant
Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will be working within the finance industry, analyzing financial information, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial activities within the organization. Responsibilities: • Analyzing financial information to maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, profit, and loss. • Preparing financial reports to determine tax liability and other financial activities. • Assessing the accuracy, completeness, and conformance of accounting records and financial statements to reporting and procedural standards. • Collaborating with the finance team to assist in audit and tax return processes. • Reviewing and analyzing budget and periodic reports, comparing budgeted costs to actual costs. • Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. • Using communication and critical thinking skills to manage time and work independently. • Applying accounting and mathematical principles as needed in the work. • Utilizing computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other related accounting software. Requirements • 10 years of Accounting or Finance experience required • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. -An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred. Skills • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written • Proven experience in producing detailed financial reports • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Comprehensive understanding of budget processes • Ability to review and audit financial documents and procedures • Familiarity with 'About Time' project management software • Solid foundation in finance and accounting principles • Experience with external audits • Ability to perform ad hoc financial analysis as required • Proficiency in account reconciliation processes • Experience in preparing financial statements • Skilled in producing and understanding journal entries • Excellent collaboration and team working skills • Knowledge in tax and tax returns preparation • Proficiency in cost analysis • Understanding of liability in financial contexts • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Familiarity with various accounting software systems.
