Responsibilities The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the accounting/finance team. The team works together to close the books accurately and efficiently. The individual in this role will take ownership of various accounting topics and will be responsible for the accurate reporting in the financial statements. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Contribute to the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting by completing period end close responsibilities. Stay updated on changes to GAAP standards and other regulations and provide recommendations for general accounting processes related to the standards. Perform complex analysis related to various accounting topics as needed. Identifies and implements process improvements. Provides guidance to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments to improve accuracy and timeliness of activities that impacts the financial statements. Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and assistance with the testing related to the compliance. Assist in preparation of quarterly/year-end audit and tax working papers. Documents current procedures and recommends ways to improve internal controls. Provides back-up for certain tasks performed by other Accountants. Special projects as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA license preferred. EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years progressive accounting experience. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines. Experience with JD Edwards or other high level ERP a plus. Experience completing GAAP research and applying GAAP.
