Senior Accountant
Job Summary

Prepares, researches, and analyzes financial information.  Maintains accurate and complete data in various financial systems.  Prepares monthly financial statements and assists with annual audit.  Makes recommendations for change as needed to increase cost effectiveness and improve processes.

Essential FunctionsPerforms statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data from various accounting and information systems to prepare financial statements and / or reports.Reconciles data and / or accounts.  Reconciles sub-ledger to general ledger. Conducts tests of reason and other procedures necessary to verify data integrity.Performs various financial analyses and data extracts for the purpose of determining past financial performance and / or to project financial probability.  Performs monthly variance analysis for assigned areas of responsibility.Reviews, analyzes and / or prepares appropriate entries to record financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner.Prepares monthly financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.Prepares audit work papers and supporting schedules.Where appropriate, makes recommendations for change in practice based on review, analysis and interpretation of financial and statistical data.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accounting or related field5 years of relevant experience through related experience and in-depth knowledge

Preferred

Masters degreeCertified Public Accountant (CPA)
