Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field required. At least five (5) years general accounting experience. Working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with the ability to apply to business transactions. Analytical and problem solving ability. Effective communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Proficient user of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of integrated accounting systems. Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department. BI Incorporated Responsibilities Summary Responsible for general ledger accounting, including analysis of business transactions to prepare journal entries, the month-end close process, financial data preparation, and account analysis and reconciliation. Takes a lead role in managing the internal Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance process. Performs research; as needed, into GAAP and SEC rules to ensure accurate and proper accounting for transactions. Serves as a key point of contact between parent company financial reporting group and the BI accounting team. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Reviews balance sheet account reconciliations, identifies errors and provides feedback for corrections. Reviews balance sheet for accuracy and completeness as part of month end close. Oversees ongoing general compliance effort with respect to SOX documents and maintenance of narratives, control matrices, etc. Serves as a key participant in monthly and quarterly business financial reviews by reviewing monthly budget to actual performance and researching reasons for variances so that management can communicate to parent company. Reviews documentation and underlying support in evaluation of software. Creates entries pertaining to fixed assets and uploads to FAS System. Maintains frequent and productive communication with Operations, Development and Systems departments to ensure compliance with GAAP. Forecasts and posts monthly electronic monitoring revenue estimate using historical data and trends. Compares results to actual monthly billing and adjusts as necessary. Prepares and generates ad hoc reports to support management analysis as needed. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts documenting business transactions. Compiles and analyzes financial data to establish and document standard accruals and quarterly adjustments Performs other duties as assigned.
