Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Works closely with the Controller ensuring monthly financial processes are completed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Conduct month-end close activities to include the timely preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, accrual schedules and monthly reporting package, in accordance with GAAPAssist in the preparation and review of various month-end close reports and analysis to validate the accuracy of the financial information, including but not limited to documenting results for submission to management and external auditorsPrepare and effectively communicate financial statement fluctuations, both balance sheet and income statement as it relates to prior year, budget and forecast, identifying root causes for variances and resolution of issuesPrepare analyses of transactions, trends, and key indicators of financial data under the direction of managementPrepare and file Sales and Use tax and Property tax returnsAssist with developing and implementing policies and proceduresAssist in the cash management reporting and projectionsPerform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance3-5 years of experience in accountingCPA or CPA trackStrong technical accounting skills (expert knowledge of US GAAP) and proficiency with researching accounting litAdvanced excel experience including VLOOKUP, Sumif and Pivot tablesDetail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environmentHighly organizedStrong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

Workday Enterprise Management systemPublic accounting experience (Big 4)Experience with the health care sector

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
