Description
We are searching for a Senior Accountant to be a part of our team in the manufacturing industry, based in the City of Commerce, California. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining complete financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, managing cash flows, and preparing quarterly reports for external auditors. You will also handle sales and property tax audits with state governments, manage fixed assets, and prepare monthly financial statements.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process and record financial data
• Manage the processing of Accounts Payable and Receivable
• Oversee cash management operations including wire transfers, web banking, and bank reconciliations
• Handle Fixed Asset and Lease Asset processing and reconciliations
• Prepare comprehensive reports and work papers for external auditors every quarter
• Coordinate sales tax audit and property tax audit with state governments
• Monitor and record costs and inventories every quarter
• Verify the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to transactions recorded by branches
• Prepare and submit government reports in a timely manner
• Compile and present monthly financial statements
• Carry out other accounting duties as required to support on-going business needs and cross-training initiatives.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
• Bilingual English / Japanese
• Proficiency in General Ledger management and Month End Close activities
• Demonstrated ability in Adjusting Journal Entries and Journal Entry Preparation
• Experience with Month-end Journal Entries is a must
• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements
• Familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting is required
• Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations
• Proficiency in Inventory Reconciliation and Inventory Analysis
• Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting activities
• Ability to handle Monthly Sales Tax and Property Tax computations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory
