Description Robert Half is partnered with a leading Baton Rouge insurance company in search of a dynamic Senior Accountant. As a Senior Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing and executing various accounting tasks, including cash management, general ledger, month-end close activities, and financial reporting. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining effective communication with the accounting/administration team, assisting with audits and partnering with leadership to create efficiencies within the department. Responsibilities: • Efficiently process and manage cash transactions • Maintain and update the general ledger accurately • Carry out month-end close activities in a timely manner • Prepare and analyze financial statements for accurate reporting • Reconcile accounts payable and ensure accurate accruals • Prepare and post journal entries for financial transactions • Utilize Workday Financials for accounting tasks • Oversee and manage team operations, if necessary. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or CPA candidate • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or corporate industry • Proficiency in performing month end close processes. • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and preparing financial statements. • Strong knowledge and understanding of the general ledger. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. • Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. • Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax compliance regulations and reporting For confidential consideration, contact Hayley Euper at 504-383-0704 or apply today!
