Our client, a cutting-edge company in the biotech industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional to thrive in a dynamic and innovative field.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
+ Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
+ Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
+ Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper job costing and financial reporting for projects.
+ Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
+ Oversee payroll accounting and ensure accurate reporting of employee-related expenses.
+ Provide support for internal and external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and reports.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
+ Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, advising management on potential impacts.
+ Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
+ 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
+ Experience in the biotech or life sciences industry is highly preferred.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
+ Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
