Position Summary

Atlanta United is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This individual will report to the Director of Finance and assist in all internal and external financial reporting for Atlanta United.  Additionally, s/he will assist in the completion of the Company’s annual audits, Major League Soccer reporting and on various special projects. S/he will provide strategic support to the finance team and management. This position is primarily based out of Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA and will also occasionally work out of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta, GA.

Role and Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly close schedule, including posting and/or review of various journal entries, event settlements, capital expenditures and accrualsMaintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAPCommunicate financial results and projections to management and department heads including actual financial performance against approved budgetsAssist in the creation of annual budget and five-year planning over multiple departmentsLead in the preparation of year end and periodic MLS reportingAssist in the annual audit process with external auditorsOwnership of the analysis and consolidation of headcount reportsSubmit sales tax in compliance with state tax requirementsComplete ad hoc analysis and other projects as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or FinanceSolid understanding of GAAPCPA preferred3-5 years of years of experience in corporate or public accounting (experience in sports industry a plus)Great Plains, Concur and Vena experience a plus
