A client with Kforce in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team onsite with one day a week (Friday) working remote. Summary: As a key member of Controllership, the Senior Accountant plays an active role through all stages of the accounting process including close processes, technical accounting, consolidations, control maintenance and oversight, and financial statement creation and analysis using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Responsibilities: * Reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts * Analysis of monthly operating results to include revenue accounts, gross margins, operating expenses and key cost center reports * Development of reports to identify key operating variances versus budget, forecast and prior year for presentation to management * Providing financial support for quarterly reviews and annual audits * Key contributor to the monthly and quarterly close process control maintenance and oversight including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, policy issuance and oversight, investigating variances to expectations, user access reviews, and accounting error root cause analysis and implementation of financial controls * Provide insight and executive presentations to company leaders to ensure they have the most up to date and reliable information to make the best decisions possible * Record and report financial transactions and prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss and subsidiary statements * Lead and assist in ad hoc projects designed to improve processes within the finance organization while also seeking to create buy-in and build consensus among stakeholders * Assist with researching and documenting technical accounting considerations and conclusions
