Senior Accountant
Description Our client, a leading Medical Device Manufacturer in Aliso Viejo, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing team for a short-term contract opportunity. This is an excellent opportunity for a experienced detail oriented to take ownership of financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives within a dynamic and collaborative environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing insights that support strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Manage general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine financial policies and procedures. Oversee fixed asset management, including depreciation schedules and reporting. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and provide support for annual audits. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with filing requirements as needed. Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior accounting or similar role. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas). Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities. Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and mentor entry level staff members.
