Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant ensures timely and accurate production and analysis of underlying data used in US GAAP – based financial statements and reports including involvement in the year end audit. Will collaborate with operational personnel and parent company accounting leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Prepares and ensures general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations are completed accurately and according to schedule. Assist in the month-end close process and analyze financial information. Develop complex accounting analytics and analyses to partner with business operations. Complete general accounting tasks Collaboration with operational personnel and parent company accounting leadership Research and provide opinion on proper US GAAP accounting treatment for new processes. Maintain a strong internal control environment. Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through in a timely manner. Maintain knowledge of the standards, policies, practices and procedures of the generally accepted accounting principles. Research accounting rules and regulations and make recommendations regarding company policy. Assist with maintenance of the general ledger system and related accounting as required. Establish, document and implement approved policies and procedures necessary to ensure a high degree of work is performed by the department. Maintain accurate, timely and well-organized computer and paper files. Performs other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting At least three years of experience with financial statements preparation and analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

CPA preferred.

TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT & TOOLS:

Proficient with standard office equipment i.e., computer, phones, scanner, fax and copier. Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with general ledgers. Proficient with Smart Phones, tablets, and applications for effective communication and information management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Strong knowledge of US GAAP Effectively analyze and reconcile financial data with attention to detail Exercise sound judgement in performing subjective accounting analysis Focus on being an effective business partner to operations and parent company accounting leadership Communicating with cross functional teams and leadership Possess strong administrative and analytical skills Ability to identify and assess risk Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information Work independently and successfully as a team member Ability to lead and develop others Strong organizational and planning skills and an ability to perform under pressure Possess effective written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of vegetation management or utility environment is strongly preferred

COMPENSATION: $65,000 - $90,000

 Lewis Services regularly evaluates our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. Starting pay will be based on a candidate’s experience, skills and education.
