Overview Risk Program Administrators (RPA) is a division of Gallagher providing a full -spectrum of risk management consulting services to public, private, and nonprofit entities across the United States. Though we pride ourselves on being able to tackle virtually anything in the risk management space, our core services include: self-insured program administration; alternative risk financing analysis; third-party vendor management; loss control and prevention; claims administration and insurance coverage review. How you'll make an impact We are hiring a Senior Accountant to join our growing team! Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares various general ledger account reconciliations May review various general ledger and bank reconciliations prepared by client accounting staff Performs budget to actual variance analysis Assists with the compilation and consolidation of financial information for the production of timely client financial statements and reports while considering applicable accounting standards, accounting policies and internal controls May present financial reports to client management and external clients Assists with the preparation of client annual budgets and forecasts Under general supervision, may prepare complex accounting analysis for management or external clients Assists with monthly, quarterly or annual billings to client members Verifies proper account coding and approvals prior to payment of vendor invoices Collaborates with other departments to support strategic decision making for each client Serves as a lead with external auditor requests May review tax returns prior to filing Maintains up-to-date documentation on procedures for assigned areas of responsibility Identifies opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency Special projects, as requested About You Required: Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration) 2 years of related experience Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting Understanding of US GAAP Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization Ability to multi-task and meet varying, and sometimes overlapping, deadlines Public accounting experience highly preferred Experience in the insurance industry AP/AR experience Experience with driving process improvements and efficiencies preferred CPA is a plus Work Traits: Advanced Excel skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with other financial systems Strong analytical skills Effective verbal and written communication skills #LI-TL1 Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
