Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to strengthen our team. This role is located in Mission Viejo, California and offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As a Senior Accountant, you'll be tasked with essential accounting operations such as journal entries, management of accounts payable and receivable, and corporate tax filings. You'll also be expected to contribute to the month-end close. This role is set in a dynamic startup environment and is fully remote with occasional in-person meetings. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation and processing of journal entries • Manage accounts payable and ensure timely and accurate payments • Control accounts receivable and ensure prompt receipt of payments • Take charge of corporate income tax filings • Contribute to the month-end close process • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare bank reconciliations • Utilize QuickBooks Online for financial management • Leverage Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting • Use BREX for expense management • Assume existing accounting responsibilities previously handled by external consultants. Requirements • The candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or a similar position. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required. • The candidate should have hands-on experience with Bank Reconciliations. • Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is necessary. • Ability to handle Month End Close processes efficiently is expected. • Experience in preparing Corporate Tax Return is a must. • Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online for accounting tasks is required. • The candidate should be adept in using Microsoft Excel for data management and financial analysis. • Experience with the BREX system is a significant advantage.
