We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will review and reconcile accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness, execute period-end responsibilities while ensuring compliance with processing deadlines, and support the Accounting Department through ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed. You will build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate effectively with departments such as Administration, Project Management, Estimating, and Site Work Crews. Additionally, you will communicate with vendors and customers to resolve financial discrepancies promptly.
Role ResponsibilitiesReview and reconcile accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness.Execute period-end responsibilities while ensuring compliance with processing deadlines.Support the Accounting Department through ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.Build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Collaborate effectively with departments such as Administration, Project Management, Estimating, and Site Work Crews.Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve financial discrepancies promptly.Be the 'go-to' person for the accounting team and review the work of the AP/Accounting Assistant team.Assist with clerical parts of closing, such as reconciliations (bank, vendor accounts, payable accounts, equipment activity).Generate reports for different parts of the company's divisions.Facilitate check runs.Work in the General Ledger (GL).Perform job costing.Review work and solve discrepancies.Demonstrate a keen eye for detail and a desire to understand the 'why' behind processes.Necessary Skills & QualificationsAccounting degree required.Management experience (2-3+ people) required, with direct responsibility for the AP team.Experience in financial reporting, including bank reconciliations and balance sheets.Full-cycle accounting experience, including journal entries, general ledger, month-end processes, audits, and reconciliations.Construction industry experience is a must.Experience with WHIP reporting is highly desirable.Strong software skills, including proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.Experience with fixed asset and project costing is required if lacking construction experience.Work EnvironmentThis position requires working onsite, with reasonable remote flexibility allowed for occasional circumstances such as illness or appointments. The typical working hours are 8 AM to 5 PM. The role reports directly to the Controller/CFO and involves helping lead the Accounts Payable department. This is a growth role with potential for long-term career advancement in an Assistant Controller-to-Controller path.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
