Senior Accountant

The primary objective of the Senior Corporate Accountant is to assist the GL Accounting team in various areas of the business, including but not limited to revenue recognition, leases, other assets and liabilities, and international accounting, among other special projects. This role works to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s accounting systems, processes, and internal controls. This role will have the opportunity to work closely with the Sr. Accounting Manager, VP of Accounting, and CFO, as well as see various unique transactions as ATEC continues to grow rapidly and expand globally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting books and records in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles, including the chart of accounts, journal vouchers, subsidiary ledgers, and financial statements.

• Prepare comprehensive account analyses and reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts on a timely basis each month to assure the integrity of the accounting records.

• Preparation of consolidated financial statements footnotes and tie-out of the financial statements to all areas of the business.

• Assist to develop, implement, and maintain compliance of accounting controls for various areas.

• Prepare and meet all deadlines for corporate financial reporting and analysis requirements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis including financial statements, tax and audit work papers, and other reports as required.

• Analyze and research various technical accounting matters, providing accurate and comprehensive documentation of issues identified and resolution reached, as well as all related adjustments and supporting calculations.

• Identify process improvements, propose changes to management, and implement changes, and support opportunities to build new interfaces to create further efficiencies in our processes.

• Cross-train and provide backup to other members of the general accounting team.

• Coordinates and performs special projects, as needed.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, master’s degree or CPA is a plus

• 3-5 years of experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm or for a public company with SEC experience

• Ability to prioritize, coordinate and handle multiple projects to meet deadlines

• Self-motivated, ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

• Exceptional organizational, problem solving, anticipatory and follow up skills.

• Proficient user of Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.) and Word, and PowerPoint, tools from Microsoft Office.
