Senior Accountant
Description Are you a seasoned accounting professional with a strong grasp of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and technical accounting? Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support one of our valued clients. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to financial accuracy and operational success. Key Responsibilities + Oversee and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of journal entries and account reconciliations. (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting) + Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to GAAP standards. + Reconcile general ledger accounts and identify discrepancies; propose and implement corrective actions as necessary. + Analyze budget-to-actual variances, providing explanations and actionable recommendations for adjustments. + Assist with external and internal audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries. + Research and implement changes related to accounting standards, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical accounting support and resolve complex accounting issues. + Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing more efficient workflows or systems. (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting) Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred. (Source: xFA, SG25-TREND 6) + 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with time spent in both public accounting and private industry. + Advanced proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas). (Source: xFA, SG25-TREND 5) + Solid understanding of GAAP standards and technical accounting processes, including financial reporting. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality, actionable insights. + Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. + Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams and presenting findings to management. + (Preferred) MBA or advanced degree in accounting or finance.
