Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Bethesda, MD. Key Responsibilities: * Senior Accountant will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards * Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized * Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations * Analyze financial data and provide variance analysis for management to support decision-making * Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness * Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts * Oversee and manage the company's general ledger, ensuring proper maintenance and accuracy of accounts * As a Senior Accountant, you will coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and assist with tax return preparation * Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax, accounting, and financial reporting standards * Assist in the preparation of internal and external reports, including financial reports for management and regulatory filings * Review and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions * Assist in implementing and improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls * Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, supporting their professional growth * Assist in special accounting projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed
