Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Senior Accountant will be instrumental in managing the financial activities of the organization, along with providing support to the HR function. This role will involve handling the general ledger, payroll, and employee benefits, while ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. Responsibilities: • Oversee daily accounting operations, such as accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank reconciliations. • Contribute to the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and reconciliations. • Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurate. • Prepare and manage employee overhead income and expense reports. • Assist in the creation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making. • Handle the processing of payroll in a timely and accurate manner, while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans. • Ensure tax reporting for payroll and deductions are done correctly, including quarterly and annual filings. • Provide HR support, managing employee records and responding to benefits inquiries. • Implement and maintain internal controls to protect company assets. • Assist in managing cash flow and monitoring daily financial transactions. • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management for decision-making. • Collaborate with IT or finance systems teams to enhance financial software and processes. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role. • Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing journal entries. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. • Extensive experience in conducting month end close. • Experience with accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Sage Intacct. • Familiarity with full cycle payroll procedures. • Experience in payroll management for 101 - 500 employees. • Ability to perform month-end close activities, month-end financial reporting, and month-end journal entries. • Proven track record in performing monthly account reconciliation.
