Description Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented contract Senior Accountant with strong expertise in Excel and automation tools to join our client's dynamic accounting team. This fully remote position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives on problem-solving, improving processes, and contributing to the success of a forward-thinking organization. This engagement is estimated to be about 6 months of work. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and analyze financial statements, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings. + Utilize advanced Excel functions (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) to manipulate data, create reports, and streamline processes. + Drive automation initiatives, such as implementing or optimizing accounting software, reporting tools, and data workflows to improve efficiency. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial systems and reporting. + Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all financial operations. + Lead or participate in finance-related projects, including process improvement and system implementations. + Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting team members. + Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making. + Identify and address discrepancies, ensuring data integrity and timely resolution of issues. + Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in accounting technology. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus. + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including expertise as a Senior Accountant or similar role. + Advanced knowledge of Excel, including macros, advanced formulas, and data visualization tools. + Proven experience with accounting software systems and automation tools; familiarity with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) or tools like Power BI, Alteryx, or Tableau is highly desirable. + Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. + Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. + Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment. + Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
