Location: Boston, MA 02108 (On-Site)
Pay Rate: $49/hr (W2)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team for a 4-month contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience with reconciliations, financial reporting, and payroll processing. This role requires a high level of accuracy, organization, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the monthly non-group premium billing schedule, including: Reconciling reports from external vendors with bank cash receipts/disbursements. Managing suspense items. Assist with account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries. Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and perform month-end close activities. Contribute to the annual audit preparation. Assist with yearly abandoned property returns. Support 1099 processing. Provide assistance with payroll processing and accounts payable as needed. Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis, along with other assigned duties. Maintain organized records, reports, and files. Update and maintain accounting policies and procedures documentation. Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements by maintaining accounting controls and following established policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience. Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, including US GAAP requirements. Skills: Excellent organizational and analytical abilities. Proficiency in Excel and other accounting tools. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
