Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Halethorpe, MD. Key Responsibilities: * Senior Accountant will prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) * Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting * Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper recording and classification of transactions * Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank and intercompany accounts * Assist with the preparation of tax filings, working closely with external tax consultants * Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies * As a Senior Accountant, you will assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts * Support audits by providing necessary financial documentation and responding to auditor inquiries * Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement * Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions * Mentor and train junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices
