Description Our client in the construction sector is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team and play a pivotal role in managing financial operations and driving business success. Key Responsibilities: + Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to accounting principles. + Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP or other relevant standards. + Collaborate with project managers to create budgets, track costs, and develop forecasts for various construction projects. + Analyze job costs and ensure accurate allocation of expenses to maximize profitability and project efficiency. + Ensure compliance with tax laws, industry regulations, and internal policies. + Assist in preparing for internal and external financial audits and address any findings. + Identify areas for improvement within accounting processes and implement efficient solutions. + Provide mentorship and support to junior accounting staff as needed. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or advanced degree (MBA) preferred. + 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the construction industry or a related field. + Proficiency in ERP software, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and knowledge of job costing systems is a must. + CPA preferred; additional certifications (e.g., CMA, CCA) are a plus. + Familiarity with accounting in the construction sector, including WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting and percentage-of-completion methodologies. + Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
