Job Description:
As our company grows this position will assist the CEO in performing general accounting functions. This position also has growth potential to Controller. Work collaboratively with the Human Resources Department to coordinate payroll and ensure timely delivery of data to our third-party processor. The successful candidate should exhibit a great positive attitude, ability to multitask, and be enthusiastic.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.Prepare journal entries, conduct account analyses, and reconcile accounts.Perform the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Budgeting & Forecasting
Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.Provide insights to management by analyzing variances and trends.Audit & Compliance
Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.Ensure compliance with GAAP guidelines.File sales tax returns in a timely manner.Fixed Assets & Inventory
Manage fixed assets, including capitalization and depreciation schedules.Support inventory management through cycle count reviews and maintain new item entries.ERP & Process Improvement
Maintain ERP system, and adapt to system enhancements.Payroll & HR Collaboration
Perform routine payroll pre-processing for a third-party payroll service.Coordinate and monitor timecard approvals.Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and timely data processing.Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Perform A/P duties by entering invoices and preparing check runs.Perform A/R duties by preparing invoices, depositing payments, and following up on past due accounts.Financial Analysis & Miscellaneous Projects
Conduct account analysis and record general ledger transactions.Manage miscellaneous projects to support overall fiscal health and management decisions.Qualification Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related study.Experience
At least 3 years of experience with general accounting principles and payroll processing (in partnership with a third-party provider).Previous hands-on experience with A/P and A/R.Experience collaborating with HR and knowledge of basic HR procedures.Experience in working with companies serving the Ecommerce space is a plus but not required.Skills & Competencies
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Discretion in handling confidential information, demonstrating sound judgment.Proficiency in ERP systems and timekeeping applications, with the ability to learn new software quickly.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.Ability to teach and translate accounting expectations to non-accounting staff.Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
