As a Senior Accountant you are responsible for a variety of critical aspects within the Finance team. Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, month-end financial reporting, journal entry creation, trial balance review, account reconciliation, Fixed Assets, Inventory reconciliations, and general ledger system maintenance. This role reports to the Manager, Accounting and is considered a HYBRID position with periodic onsite work at our North American headquarters in Apple Valley, MN.
What will you do?
GENERAL ACCOUNTING: Performs a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards – including, but not limited to financial analysis, journal entries, trial balance review, inventory reconciliation, and account reconciliations.
PERIOD END/FINANCIAL REPORTING: Responsible for timely and accurate submission of period-closing financial reporting to international corporate office. Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
FIXED ASSETS: Responsible for reconciling and recording costs of fixed assets, including additions and disposals. Assist the external financial & tax auditors with the required reporting.
AUDIT COMPLIANCE: The financial audit duties include assisting with the preparation of audit schedules, providing appropriate supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any additional data as deemed necessary. Recommends, designs and implements internal controls and continuous process improvements based on department’s objectives.

What you will need?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting: CPA, MBA a plus, but not required
At least 5 years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization
Public accounting experience preferred but not required
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to think both tactically and strategically, and beyond the finance function.
Ability to work independently. Has a natural competitiveness for identifying opportunities and driving results.
Must have highly developed customer/colleague relationship skills with strong service orientation.
Excellent computer skills (MS Office suite, including Advanced Excel and PowerPoint) required. Experience with advanced planning and reporting systems highly desired (example Adaptive Planning, Hyperion). Experience with Oracle desirable, but not required
