Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Processes
+ Record daily and monthly transactional activities using appropriate systems and processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and departmental reports.
Account Reconciliations and Schedules
+ Prepare reconciliations for bank statements and balance sheet accounts, including prepaids, inventory, fixed assets, and accruals, identifying discrepancies and ensuring data accuracy.
+ Maintain up-to-date fixed asset schedules and handle related accounting entries.
+ Utilize lease accounting software to maintain lease schedules and ensure proper reporting aligned with ASC 842 – Lease Accounting standards.
Compliance and Revenue Recognition
+ Help ensure compliance with ASC 606 – Revenue Recognition, accurately recognizing revenue across multiple businesses.
+ Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, along with other state and local business filings, maintaining compliance and good standing across all entities.
Research, Analysis, and Reporting
+ Conduct thorough research and analyze data to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide actionable guidance to stakeholders.
+ Develop and continuously enhance reporting tools and accounting functions to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication
+ Respond promptly to information requests from internal leadership and external auditors, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
+ Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, contributing to the overall success of the Accounting Department and the businesses it supports.
Systems and Compliance
+ Maintain and enhance systems and processes to uphold compliance with established procedures, company policies, and US GAAP standards.
Special Projects and Additional Duties
+ Take initiative in performing special projects and other tasks, as assigned, to support the needs and goals of the Accounting Department.
Requirements
+ Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, with 3–5 years of relevant, hands-on experience.
+ Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and related disclosure requirements.
+ Systems Proficiency: Advanced understanding of accounting systems with a proven ability to quickly adapt to new software.
+ Excel Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
+ Accountability & Time Management: Proactively manages workload, consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
+ Team Player: Passionate about being part of a collaborative, high-performing accounting team while confidently working independently to deliver exceptional results.
+ Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
