Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. This position is for a Senior Accountant role within the Controller’s Group. This position will be reporting to the Manager of Capital Markets Accounting and will be responsible for supporting the GAAP and Regulatory accounting and reporting for Ally's investment portfolios. This position will help maintain current reporting, be a leader on the development and improvement of the team’s sub-ledger/reporting platforms as well as assist with new strategic initiatives. The individual will work closely with various business partners, including Capital Markets Analytics, Front Office, Treasury Operations, Information Technology (IT), Balance Sheet Management and SEC/Regulatory Reporting.

The Work Itself Responsible for the consistent application and compliance of relevant accounting standards related to investment accounting Support month-end close - participate in monthly preparation & review of investment accounting results to ensure close functions are completed accurately and on a timely basis. Accountable for several daily, weekly, and monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations providing resolution for differences and/or providing variance analyses. Participate in the quarterly preparation of internal and external reporting including SEC reporting disclosures, Regulatory Reporting, internal management reporting, etc. Contribute to ad hoc analytical projects (i.e. Power Bi reports)  Work collaboratively with Finance, Ally Bank, Insurance, Treasury Ops, IT, and other partners to ensure enterprise objectives are met Participate in the development of analytical tools, reports, and systems through User Acceptance Testing to optimize accounting processes and financial analysis. Participate in any significant technology changes and/or upgrades, accounting changes or new business initiatives Develop subject matter expertise of Eagle, SAP, Bloomberg, and Onestream/BEx reporting applications. Identify and implement ongoing process improvements The Skills You Bring Bachelor's degree required (Accounting major preferred) CPA/CFA (or equivalent) and /or MBA preferred Minimum 3+ years previous work experience in Accounting/Finance required, with financial service industry experience preferred Experience in accounting for investments and/or other financial instruments is preferred but not required SAP, OneStream, Eagle, and/or PowerBI experience is a plus Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting skills Team player who has a positive attitude Flexible with the ability to readily adapt to changes Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner who takes initiative Ability to understand sophisticated transactions Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis and provide explanations to management

Base Pay Range: $70000 - $120000 USDAn individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.  Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
