DescriptionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine and complex accounting activities requiring knowledge of systems, independent judgment and ability to respond accordingly. Oversees activity on various accounts. Analyzes past and current data and prepares expense projections and operational forecasts. Assists with audits. Designs and generates routine ad hoc reports and graphs. May maintain grants and assist with budgets. Coordinates computer operations. Conceptualizes projects and follows through. May provide direction to less experienced staff concerning accounting issues. Performs related responsibilities as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and one year of professional accounting experience OR equivalent combination of experience, education and training.ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
Oversee activities on multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Assisting and ensuring the integrity of our financial practices align with policies.Designing and generating reports that provide insights to faculty regarding non-sponsored and sponsored projects.Coordinating and processing Emory Express requisitions/purchase orders.Providing guidance to less experienced faculty, staff, and students on relevant accounting issues.Analyzing past and current financial data to prepare accurate expense projections and forecasts for non-sponsored projects and assisting with projections on sponsored projects.Analyzing historical accounting data to aid faculty in both short and long-range financial planning. Maintain proper accounting controls and procedures while correcting account balances, as necessary.Performing day-to-day accounting tasks, as well as assisting in year-end close out, prepare, develop, and monitor budgets, and conduct indirect cost analyses.NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
